Former United States President Donald Trump has launched a torrent of attacks casting his rival Kamala Harris as a left-wing “extremist”, claiming the de facto presidential nominee for the Democratic Party has been the “ultraliberal driving force” behind Joe Biden’s policies.

In his first public campaign event since Biden, 81, exited the presidential race and endorsed his vice president, the Republican nominee said that Harris would be the most left-wing occupant of the White House “times 10” if elected in November.

“If you want socialist healthcare, nation-wrecking inflation, the death of American energy, and a lying, radical left-liberal, San Francisco extremist as your commander-in-chief, then Kamala Harris is your candidate,” Trump said on Wednesday at a campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Trump, who repeatedly mispronounced Harris’s first name, said the vice president had been ranked the most liberal member of the US Senate and made Senator Bernie Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist, look like a moderate.

The Republican singled out Harris’s record on abortion and immigration, in particular, claiming that she was in favour of the “execution” of babies and had overseen the “deadly destruction” of the US border in her role as Biden’s diplomatic lead tasked with liaising with Central American countries.

Harris, a former prosecutor and attorney general in California, has accused Trump of supporting a nationwide ban on abortion and wanting to take the country backwards to “before many of our fellow Americans had full freedoms and rights”.

“She is a radical-left lunatic who will destroy our country if she ever gets the chance to get into office. We are not going to let that happen,” Trump said.

Trump, 78, also accused Harris of deceiving the public about Biden’s mental fitness.

“For three and a half years, Harris shamelessly lied to the public to cover up Joe Biden’s mental unfitness, claiming that crooked Joe was at the absolute top of his game. I don’t think so. I don’t think so,” he said.

Trump’s superlative-laden address came as Harris, 59, hit the campaign trail as the de facto Democratic nominee after locking down the lion’s share of delegates ahead of next month’s national convention. Following weeks of turmoil over Biden’s faltering candidacy, Harris’s elevation has injected new energy into the race, with donors pledging record contributions and several polls showing her improving on the president’s performance against Trump.

Harris, however, still trails Trump in the majority of polls carried out since Biden’s exit and faces questions about her appeal among the general electorate after a political career mostly spent in heavily Democratic California.

In an address expanding on his reasons for not seeking re-election on Wednesday, Biden, whose age and fitness had become a growing concern among Democrats, reiterated his support for Harris, praising her as “experienced”, “tough” and “capable”.

“She’s been an incredible partner to me and a leader for our country,” Biden said in remarks delivered shortly after Trump’s rally wrapped up.

Harris, who would be the female US president if elected, spent Wednesday campaigning in Indiana, where she visited a historically Black sorority to rally support for her bid to defeat Trump.

“In this moment, I believe we face a choice between two different visions for our nation, one focused on the future, the other focused on the past,” Harris said.

“And with your support, I am fighting for our nation’s future.”

How far was the suspected gunman from Donald Trump?

One witness told the BBC that he had seen a man – believed to be Crooks - with a rifle on the roof of a building before Trump was shot.

Video footage obtained by TMZ shows the moment the shooting began.

The assailant opened fire with “an AR-style rifle”, CBS News reports.

Law enforcement sources also told CBS that he was reported by a bystander and identified as a suspicious person by police, but that officers lost track of him before the shooting began.

However, the FBI says it did not immediately know what type of firearm was used or how many shots were fired.

A Secret Service sniper returned fire and killed the gunman, the agency said.

Footage later shows armed officers approaching a body on the roof of the building.

Dear viewer: On Jan 23rd, 2024 Mr. Brandon Biggs posted a video on his You Tube channel offering an apology to his audience. He admitted that there were some so called prophetic words which were misleading and he took full responsibility for his words and actions for any harm it caused to his viewers. Unfortunately Mr. Biggs has removed that video from public view and changed it's status to PRIVATE. There has been a lot of critique concerning the prophecy given by Mr. Biggs exposing him as a false prophet. For the most part, these critics have offered opinions from the perspective of a CESSASIONIST point of view as in the case of this video. Many of these critiques fail to arrive at the heart of the matter which I will address below by making 3 points as follows: Why some people like Brandon Biggs err with the gift of prophesy: 1) Warning: We know in part, and we prophesy in part. Scripture says that we know in part and we prophesy in part (I Corinthians 13:9). It is imperative not only to realize that we can be wrong, but that we are seldom completely right. None of us ever really sees the whole picture, but only in part. If we possess this humility of heart and mind, we can avoid many unnecessary errors and mistakes. Remember that regardless of how accurate we may be in our revelation and interpretation, we are only seeing part of the picture. We must realize that there is also more wisdom and insight for a situation than what we are seeing. Be open to receiving additional insight from others and from the Lord. Some of the most gifted prophetic ministers I know often misinterpret the revelation they receive. God allows this for several reasons: 1) to keep those who are profoundly gifted humble and teachable, 2) to keep us dependent on Him, and 3) to keep us from wrongly elevating prophetically gifted people to a place of infallibility. 2) Warning: Don’t prophesy beyond your faith. Many people have such a passion to function in the higher levels of a word of knowledge that it causes undue trouble. After seeing someone prophesy names, birthdays, and intimate details about a person’s life, some novices attempt to prophesy beyond their levels of faith. 3) Warning: Some prophesiers deviate from the original message given to them by God by interjecting their own personal interpretations with OPINIONS. This eventually leads to PROPHETIC SPECULATION and it totally muddles the original prophetic word. I STRONGLY advise these folks to STOP THIS PRACTICE IMMEDIATELY. It does more harm than good to the Body of Christ. In many cases, much of what would be considered false prophecy is accurate. Or to put it another way misinterpreted revelation. Like Mr. Biggs above, he saw a clear picture from God concerning Mr. Trump's attempted assassination, but proceeded to misinterpret it by giving his non-professional medical opinion among other things which he stated. Two Biblical examples: 1) In Acts 21:10-12 we read an interesting case of a true prophetic revelation being misinterpreted and to some degree also misapplied by some as well. Agabus prophesied that the Jews in Jerusalem would bind Paul hand and foot and deliver him to the Gentiles. However, what actually happened was that the Jews took Paul and were about to kill him when the gentiles came and delivered Paul from the Jews. IT WAS THE GENTILES THAT BOUND HIM NOT THE JEWS. Even though Agabus got some of the details wrong, this was still a profound prophetic revelation given by Agabus. 2)1Samuel Chapter 16: 1-12. In this passage of scripture the Prophet Samuel misinterpreted the prophetic word that God gave him concerning who would be anointed to be King of Israel from the sons of Jesse. It took the Prophet Samuel 7 attempts to rightly identify who would be the next king of Israel(DAVID). Using these 2 biblical examples, does this prove that AGABUS and Samuel were false prophets because they misinterpreted the prophetic words that God spoke to them? ABSOLUTELY NOT! WE ARE ALL FINITE HUMAN BEINGS TRYING TO UNDERSTAND/COMMUNICATE WITH A TRANSCENDENT DIVINE BEING (cf Isaiah 55:8-9). When you try to explain or understand God and his ways intellectually through the lens of CESSASIONIST THEOLOGY, it does more harm than good because it just muddles the issue. Finally, I am not trying to justify Mr. Brandon Biggs misinterpretations because to do so I would be placing him on a pedestal of infallibility.

As one of the world’s foremost experts in the field of wypipology, I am constantly searching for ways to translate my studies into real-world applications. Fortunately, there are hundreds of white people who generously take time out of their day to accuse me of being the real racist. These scholars keep in constant contact with me to point out how I actually keep racism alive by talking about racism. Because I am always open to sharing the wisdom of white America, I wanted to combine the practices that tartar-saucians often describe as “race-baiting” into one top 10 countdown for those who are interested in keeping racism alive.

10. Play the Victim
One of the biggest reasons racism exists is that black people love playing the victim. It has been one of the favorite Negro pastimes ever since Africans locked themselves in chains, stowed away on American cruise ships and crossed the Atlantic Ocean. Apparently, we are so in love with this dangerous activity, we are willing to subject our bodies to bullets and police batons just to participate in our own victimhood. We have passed it down through generations by naming our children whatever the hell we want, in hopes that employers will continue the practice of throwing their résumés in the trash. None of this is white people’s fault. It is black people’s fault because, by pointing out systemic inequalities like wage discrimination, school funding and disparities in the criminal-justice system, we waste valuable time not working twice as hard as our white counterparts to get half as much.

9. Engage in Identity Politics
When black people vote for black candidates, they are playing right into the hands of identity politics. Despite the fact that Donald Trump’s white voters were motivated by race, female voters are encouraged to vote for female candidates, Catholics voted for John F. Kennedy, Mormons voted for Mitt Romney, and politicians openly invoke their Christian identity to appeal to evangelical voters, the moniker of “identity politics” applies only to black voters. A majority of white people have never voted for a black presidential candidate. Yet it is black people who keep racism alive because white is not considered a political identity. It is a birthright.

8. Make Everything About Race
Even when black people have no intention of playing the victim, they indirectly keep racism alive simply by making everything about race. For instance, when a group of Upper West Side parents in New York City objected to plans to integrate one of the most segregated school districts in America, The Root fellow Anne Branigin decided to make the parents’ anger all about race. Anyone laboring under the delusion that New York City is a progressive bastion need look no further. In this instance, Branigin secretly stood at the entrance to the meeting and kept black parents from attending. Then she egregiously used actual quotes from actual parents who complained about black and Hispanic children attending the schools. In this case, it wasn’t the outraged parents, the school district or the history of segregation. It was Branigin’s fault for twisting an incident that was not at all about race into something that was all about race.

7. Discuss History
Black people love bringing up old stuff like slavery, history and truth. They will often bring up slavery at inopportune times, like history classes. The only logical reason blacks insist on making every discussion on the Civil War about slavery and white supremacy is that every available historical document about the Civil War actually cites slavery and white supremacy as the reasons for the conflict, and mentions nothing about Southern pride and cultural heritage. Every Confederate state that wrote a declaration of secession mentioned slavery. When Confederate President Jefferson Davis said, “White men have an equality resulting from a presence of a lower caste, which cannot exist where white men fill the position here occupied by the servile race,” he was apparently trying to keep racism alive. He did a damn good job, too.

6. Be a Reverse Racist
One of the newest techniques in the field of racism technology is oppressing white people. Despite the fact that white people control every branch of the federal government, the financial industry, the entertainment industry, corporate America and the production of white tears, most white people feel that they are discriminated against. Recently, white people have been forced to endure the harmful effects of only working jobs for which they are qualified and having their grades and test scores determine where they attend college. Meanwhile, blacks benefit from affirmative action mandates that allow them to apply for jobs for which they are qualified and to be accepted into colleges based on their grades and test scores. How racist.

5. Use Facts
A 2015 study shows that the only significant determining factor in predicting whether someone shot and killed by police was unarmed is whether or not the victim was black. Schools with higher numbers of black students receive less funding. Black men receive longer prison sentences than white men who commit the same crimes. These are facts. But people who mention these peer-reviewed, scientific studies are playing the race card because, obviously, numbers are biased against Caucasians. As a matter of fact, pointing out the measurable, quantifiable existence of racism is, in and of itself, an extreme act of bigotry against white people. Facts are racist.

4. Mention the Words “White Privilege”
A recent study showed that black kids born to rich parents are as likely to be incarcerated as white kids born to parents making $36,000 per year. The study showed that, regardless of the neighborhood, education or income of black parents, their children will likely earn less than white kids whose parents are poorer and less educated and live in better neighborhoods. Black kids receive harsher discipline in schools. Whites are more likely to sell drugs, but blacks are more likely to be arrested for it. Black boys are perceived as older and less innocent than white kids the same age. Meanwhile, white children are exempt from being disadvantaged and criminalized at birth. But referring to that reality as “white privilege” means that you are attacking white people and being racist. Fortunately, whites have solved this problem. No, they haven’t worked to eliminate prejudice (don’t be silly). Instead, they just introduced an alternative, semantics-based solution. There is no such thing as white privilege. Black people are just underprivileged. See. They fixed it for you.

3. Don’t Blame Black People
It is possible to breathe life into racism without even talking to white people. For instance, according to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report, combined with U.S. population estimates, in any given year, 95 percent of black people don’t commit a crime. In black neighborhoods, the number of anti-violence marches, education initiatives and crime-prevention groups far outweigh the number of Black Lives Matter marches. Yet black people don’t want to talk about black-on-black crime. Why? Maybe it’s because white people never see these efforts, since media outlets don’t deem them newsworthy. Maybe it’s because, contrary to stereotypes, there is such a small percentage of black criminals. And maybe white people don’t know about these examples because there is no reason to talk to white people about black issues. Nah, it’s gotta be because we’d rather keep racism alive by blaming whites.

2. Say “White People”

Because white people are accustomed to being seen as individuals, they hate being referred to as white people. It chaps their hides. Even laughing at the caucalicious phrase “chaps their hide” is racist, as is any variation of the term “white people,” including, but not limited to, “colonizer,” “mayonaisse American,” “undermelanated,” “a citizen of Rhythmless Nation” or “a Michael Rapaportian.”

1. Be Black
Most people don’t know that white people are scientifically incapable of tasting seasonings (which saves them a lot of money but costs them a lot in ridicule).  Being black means we get to do things that white people can’t do, which is patently unfair. Despite the fact that White History Month is celebrated 11 months every year, Black History Month keeps racism alive. BET and TV One make wypipo upset because wypipo only have 1,295 white television networks. But the one thing that really upsets white people is the fact that they can’t use the n-word without being accused of being racist, while black people get to say it all the time. This double standard keeps racism alive because everyone knows that white people spend 22.94 percent of their time dreaming of a valid reason that would allow them to say “nigger” at the top of their lungs. Even when they’re with their sorority sisters or in a presidential Cabinet meeting, they are persecuted whenever they say something that disparages black people, and it is patently unfair. Not only does this inequality keep racism alive, but more important ... It really chaps their hides.

ABOUT THIS BOOK

In Chicago a.k.a “Chiraq,” the first ten days of 2016 yielded 120 people shot. Baltimore’s 2015 ended as its bloodiest and deadliest year — on a per-capita basis. In 2014, Detroit’s police chief called upon law-abiding citizens to take arms against its burgeoning, violent, criminal subculture.

Unfortunately, these cities aren’t anomalies. Year after year, a seemingly unshakable reality of violence plagues black communities nationwide. Yet, a certain black-based industry — which specializes in nurturing comfortable lies while burying uncomfortable truths — propagates a notion that “racism” is the foremost issue facing black Americans, and white cops are blood-thirsty enforcers.

Moreover, this cunning, race-peddling entity knows it’s easier to lie to blacks than convince blacks they’ve been lied to. Thus, black “lies” are good for business while black “lives” are good for nothing except exploitation.

And presently, business is booming! Thanks to the likes of  Al Sharpton and his radical movement.

What is the Swoon Theory?

ANSWER

The Swoon Theory is the belief that Jesus didn’t really die at His crucifixion, but was merely unconscious when He was laid in the tomb and there He resuscitated. Accordingly, His appearances after three days in the tomb were merely perceived to be resurrection appearances. There are several reasons why this theory is invalid and can be easily proven as false, and there were at least three different persons or groups involved in Jesus’ crucifixion who were all satisfied concerning the fact of His death on the cross. They are the Roman guards, Pilate, and the Sanhedrin.

The Roman Guards - There were two separate groups of Roman soldiers given the task of ensuring the death of Jesus: the executioners and the tomb guards. The soldiers in charge of execution were specialists in capital punishment, and crucifixion was one of the most brutal forms of execution in history. Jesus was nailed to a cross after enduring horrible beatings at the hands of these professional death merchants, and every person put to death by way of crucifixion was dealt with by these soldiers. Their job was to ensure the task was completed. Jesus could not have survived crucifixion, and these soldiers made certain that Jesus was dead before His body was allowed to be taken from the cross. They were completely satisfied that Jesus was truly dead. The second group of soldiers was given the task of guarding the tomb of Jesus because of the request made to Pilate by the Sanhedrin. Matthew 27:62-66 tells us “On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate, saying, ’sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, “After three days I will rise.” Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him away, and say to the people, "He has risen from the dead." So the last deception will be worse than the first.' Pilate said to them, 'You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how.' So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard" (NKJV). These guards ensured that the tomb was secure, and their lives depended upon completion of their mission. Only the resurrection of the Son of God could have stayed them from their task.

Pilate - Pilate gave the order for Jesus to be crucified and entrusted this task to be carried out by a Roman centurion, a trusted and proven commander of 100 Roman soldiers. After the crucifixion, a request for the body of Jesus was made by Joseph of Arimathea, in order that His body could be placed in a tomb. Only after confirmation was given to him by his centurion did Pilate release the body into the care of Joseph. Mark 15:42-45: “Now when evening had come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath, Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, coming and taking courage, went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Pilate marveled that He was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him if He had been dead for some time. And when he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph” (NKJV). Pilate was completely satisfied that Jesus was truly dead.

The Sanhedrin - The Sanhedrin was the ruling council of the Jewish people, and they requested that the bodies of those crucified, including Jesus, be taken down from the cross after their death because of the ensuing Sabbath day. John 19:31-37: “Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, 'Not one of His bones shall be broken.' And again another Scripture says, ‘They shall look on Him whom they pierced.’” These Jews who demanded that Jesus be crucified, and even going so far as to suggest an insurrection had He not been crucified, would never have allowed Jesus’ body to be removed from the cross were He not already dead. These men were completely satisfied that Jesus was truly dead.

There is other evidence that the Swoon Theory is invalid, such as the condition of Jesus’ body after the resurrection. At every appearance, Jesus’ body was shown to be in a glorified state, and the only marks remaining as proof of His crucifixion were the nail prints He asked Thomas to touch as proof of who He was. Anyone who had experienced what Jesus experienced would have needed months to recover physically. Jesus’ body bore only the marks of the nails in His hands and feet. The way in which Jesus’ body was prepared after the crucifixion is further evidence to refute the theory. Had Jesus only been unconscious, the linens He was wrapped in would have been impossible for Him to escape from, had He been merely a man. The way in which the women attended to Jesus’ body is further evidence of his death. They came to the tomb on the first day of the week to further anoint His body with embalming ointments as they had little time to prepare His body prior to the beginning of the Sabbath after His crucifixion. Had He been merely unconscious as the theory supposes, they would have brought medicinal tools to help in His resuscitation.

The purpose for the Swoon Theory is not to dispute His death, but rather, it seeks to disprove His resurrection. If Jesus didn’t resurrect, then He’s not God. If Jesus truly died and rose from the dead, His power over death proves that He is the Son of God. The evidence demands the verdict: Jesus truly died on the cross, and Jesus truly rose from the dead.

What is Cult Love-Bombing?

In the context of Christian church, cult love-bombing is a psychological manipulation tactic used by cults to recruit and retain members. It typically involves an overwhelming display of affection, attention, and approval towards new recruits to create a sense of belonging, foster blind loyalty, and prevent the member from leaving once they inevitably see and experience abuse, corruption, cult-like control. 

Once you understand what love-bombing is and what it looks like, it can make recognizing and leaving an abusive cult or relationship much easier because it’s one of the first red flags you’ll notice before even being recruited or lured into the relationship. It’s also one of the easiest red flags to spot in a Christian church. 

The Origin of the Term "Love-Bomb"

Love-bombing is a term that was coined in the 1970s by members of the Unification Church, commonly known as the Moonies, to describe their method of attracting new members. Although coined by a non-Christian cult, love-bombing has been practiced and used by all sorts of manipulative and abusive groups and individuals, both religious and non-religious, for much longer. As I’ve checked local Christian churches throughout my life and especially in the last five years, I’ve come to believe the leaders of the Christian Church have mastered the art of love-bombing and practice it rampantly in local churches and ministries. 

Love-bombing leverages the psychological need for acceptance, love, and social connection to lure people in and prevent them from leaving. By showering new recruits or potential recruits with positive reinforcement, cults exploit these needs, making recruits feel valued and understood in a way they might not have experienced before.

The Abusive Impact of Cult Love-Bombing

The psychological impact of love-bombing, whether in a religious cult or any other type of relationship, is both profound and destructive. At its core, the love-bombing practiced in Christian cults is emotional manipulation, and its primary goal is to exploit the human need for affection and love under the guise of authentic, Christ-like agape love.    

At first, recruits experience a euphoric sense of belonging, acceptance, and what they are led to believe is Christian love. This is especially powerful for individuals who are vulnerable or going through a difficult period in their lives, and the positive attention can lead to an emotional high, making recruits more susceptible to the cult’s influence and control. 

With the primary effect of love-bombing being emotional manipulation, new members often feel an artificial or what my friend Shawn McCraney has rightly called a “Manufactured” sense of love and security, which can cloud their judgment. This euphoric state makes it easier for cult leaders to lure recruits, indoctrinate them with the group’s beliefs and practices, and keep them from leaving when things inevitably go south.

Over time, recruits become dependent on the constant validation and approval they receive from the cult. But not only that. Love-bombing can include elaborate, over-the-top gifts, favors, and life support that leaves its victim both dependant emotionally and physically. This dependency can lead to a loss of autonomy as recruits start to prioritize the cult's approval over their own needs and desires.

Another dangerous impact of the cult love-bomb is when recruits encounter contradictions or questionable practices within the cult, but their strong emotional ties leads to cognitive dissonance. They might rationalize or ignore clearly abusive or negative practices and teachings to maintain their emotional peace and the sense of belonging they receive from the cult.

Tactics of Love-Bombing in the Christian Church | Does Your Church Practice Love-Bombing?

Cults employ various tactics to effectively love-bomb new recruits. Over the past five years, I’ve found the following love-bombing tactics within a majority of the local Christian churches I’ve checked:

1. Intensive Interaction: Established existing members are often assigned the task of providing constant attention and praise to new and potential recruits as a means to plant the love bomb. This creates an immersive environment where the recruit feels like the center of attention. Examples of this tactic in a Christian church can include things like texting or calling frequently and inviting the recruit to social activities and events where the recruit then becomes a focus of attention from multiple members of the church.  
   

2. Affection and Praise: Recruits and potential recruits are frequently complimented and praised for their qualities and potential contributions to the group. This creates a positive reinforcement loop that encourages deeper involvement in the cult, such as signing up for courses, small groups, Bible studies, volunteering services, and more. Cult members will practice this tactic on recruits and potential recruits during intensive interaction (described above), but also in other less intensive ways. One example that’s become a common practice in more seeker-friendly churches is the signs church greeters will hold outside on Sunday mornings that display love-bombing phrases like: “We’re so glad you made it!” or: “Welcome home.,” or my favorite: “You look amazing today!” 

3. Gift-Giving: Small (or even big) gifts or acts of kindness are common in the initial stages of the love-bomb. These gestures create a sense of obligation and gratitude in the recruit, so walking away becomes much more difficult once the initial honeymoon phase of joining a cult fades and the reality of the corruption, abuse, and oppression in the group becomes evident. Examples of gift-giving can include things like promises of a job, a special position in the church, or a platform for your own ministry. While many cults will follow through with these gifts as long as you remain loyal and obedient to the church leaders, many victims will find this tactic ultimately deceptive and empty. Allicia Young, a former member of Solid Rock at Market Common in Myrtle Beach, SC spoke of this as a prominent experience during her time in the church (see video above).  

4. Mirroring and Active Listening: Something I’ve learned about from studying body language and human behavior from experts like Chase Hughes, Greg Hartley, Scott Rouse, Mark Bowden, and Joe Navarro is the manipulative practice of mirroring. Cult members will often mirror the recruit’s behavior and actively listen to their concerns and aspirations as means to manipulate them into compliance. This creates an illusion of deep understanding and empathy, but it also opens the recruit up to undue influence and manipulation.  

5. Euphoric Worship Experience: Another love-bombing tactic commonly practiced in local Christian churches today is abusing the practice of worship to create a euphoric and emotional experience to love-bomb its members. This emotionally manipulative tactic is manufactured to overwhelm the recruit with feelings of love and affection, both from and to God, which ‌leads the recruit to conflate their positive emotional experience during worship with the church/cult itself. While the victim may authentically love God and mean to worship Him in spirit and in truth, the cult’s intentions are to intensify emotions and create a state of euphoria in members to make them more open and susceptible to undue influence.   

A Brief History of Cult Love-Bombing 

There are several examples from history that illustrate the effectiveness and dangers of love-bombing in cult recruitment:

1. The Peoples Temple: Led by Jim Jones, the Peoples Temple used love-bombing extensively to attract members. New recruits were welcomed with open arms, praised, and given important roles within the community. This tactic played a crucial role in the mass recruitment that ultimately led to the tragic Jonestown massacre in 1978.

2. Heaven’s Gate: This UFO religious cult, led by Marshall Applewhite and Bonnie Nettles, employed love-bombing to make recruits feel special and chosen. The sense of belonging and purpose was so strong that members willingly participated in a mass suicide in 1997, believing they would ascend to a higher existence.

3. The Children of God: Also known as The Family International, this cult used love-bombing as a core recruitment strategy. New members were showered with affection and integrated into the community, making it difficult for them to leave despite the controversial and abusive practices within the group.

Love-bombing in these more prominently known cults led to horrendous death and destruction, but the love-bombing in Christian cult churches shouldn’t be dismissed or downplayed simply because they proclaim the Gospel of Christ. Countless documentaries and whistleblowers have come forward over the past few decades within the Christian Church to expose the abuses being practiced against God’s people. Slapping Jesus’ name on a church doesn’t make it free of abuse, darkness, and scandalous corruption. 

Conclusion

Whether the love bomb leads to mass death and destruction or not, it’s a manipulative and abusive tactic that only a wolf in sheep’s clothing will practice. It gives a deceptive appearance of love, acceptance, and praise, but its practitioners conceal sinister intentions of exploitation and abuse for selfish gain. This is the nature of the wolf in sheep’s clothing, and it all starts with the deceptive and manipulative tactic of love-bombing. 

Cult love-bombing is a powerful psychological manipulation technique that exploits basic human needs for love, acceptance, and belonging, but its sole purpose is to manipulate, exploit, and oppress its victims. By overwhelming new recruits with positive reinforcement, false empathy, and manufactured love, cults can create strong emotional bonds that enables the other, much more evident abusive practices of the cult, such as isolation, indoctrination, and control. 

If you understand the tactics and destructive impact of cult love-bombing, you can recognize and resist this manipulative behavior before you find yourself trapped in a wolf's den. Check your church for these red flags in the initial stages of attending a church or even after you’ve been a member for years. You can still notice these behaviors when observing how the church treats its newer members.
