The Judeo-Christian Values of America




Judeo-Christian Values have a foundational role in America, beginning with the Declaration of Independence: 
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness..." 
Since the pursuit of happiness, as Sigmund Freud surmised, is tied to human love and to creative work and play, the principles of American Judeo-Christian Values can rightly be summarized as the honoring of God-given Life, Liberty and Creativity. This seed of American Social Justice was then fleshed out in the U.S. Constitution through reason and common sense, unencumbered by the dysfunctional religious and secular traditions and laws of Old Europe. 


Our Founding Fathers separated church from state, but they wisely did not separate God from state; they acknowledged God as the source of our rights, and, in fact, they were careful to place Biblical morality directly into our founding documents and laws, and into our values and culture precisely to help prevent a future of totalitarian or tyrannical rule in America.  The combination of keeping Judeo-Christian religious morality in the state, as opposed to the church it's self; and, additionally, setting up our laws based on reason and common sense has contributed to the American Character, and to what is known as "American Exceptionalism." 


Our Founding Fathers were religious in a new way, the Judeo-Christian way, and they were the liberals of their day by deducing that our political and human rights come from a power higher than human government; but they were conservative to Biblical morality.  There was and still is a connection between God and Liberty; He is the author of it.  It is ironic that American Conservatives are now the champion of this our most liberal founding principle; and also an irony that most American Conservatives are wholly unaware of their connection with the liberal founding ideas of this great republic.  It is also an irony that many American Liberals have turned a blind eye to the required connection between God and Liberty.  As Thomas Jefferson and John Adams noted, as you will see below, Liberty cannot survive among men without its Divine connection.


In Judeo-Christian America one finds the idea of equality before God and the law, but not government forced economic equality.   Modern European culture has stressed the value of economic equality rather than Liberty, and their governments unjustly enforce the principle.  This has led to the failed European inventions of Socialism and Communism.  Socialists in America have been lured into this failed European idea of social justice.  Socialism is a failure in that it unjustly suppresses human creativity by excessively taxing away its rewards, and by foolishly giving economic reward to many who, even though mentally and physically able, fail to honor their Divine privilege and duty to work creatively. 


Thus, Socialism is a dual insult to God-given creativity.  Communism was much worse in that it also dishonored the sacredness of human life and liberty.  Communism was the inevitable result of separating not just church from state, but God from state.  Communism dishonored God's gifts of Life, Liberty and Creativity.  European cultures have historical ties to authoritarian and totalitarian systems dating back to the Roman Empire.  Even European Christianity was, for a time, contaminated by its links to authoritarian rule. 


American Judeo-Christian Culture, on the other hand, has been linked to honoring Life, Liberty and Creativity from the outset; deriving its wisdom from the lights of reason, common sense, and both the Hebrew Bible and New Testament Christian Bible.  Thomas Jefferson and the great majority of our Founding Fathers explicitly put God into the national life of the United States, by putting the Creator into the Declaration of Independence.  It is important that American Liberty has something to do with God; that is something for students to know and discuss, even if they are not particularly religious.  This does not represent some form of tyranny of the religious majority or an injustice; it was in fact the wisdom of our Founding Fathers to stand in opposition to tyranny and injustice by acknowledging the source of our rights -- those rights originating from God rather than from King George III, or for that matter from the Soviet or Chinese Politburo, or a courthouse, or a legislature.


America is a melting pot of diverse people including Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and Atheists; and from the Judeo-Christian perspective, all are made in God's image.  We have in America a multiethnic society, and that is good.  What would be unhealthy for America would be for it to become Balkanized, something likely to happen with the atrophy of Judeo-Christian American Culture and Values.  Worse yet would be for America to adopt the toxic values which exist in some parts of the world and which are endemic in some foreign cultures.  The values of Fascism, Nazism, Communism or Totalitarian Islamic Sharia Law for example must never metastasize into our American Culture, rooted in Judeo-Christian values.  These values have been with us from the beginning and they have made us strong and successful.  These Judeo- Christian Values should be kept central to the American Spirit and Culture even as we have become more multi-ethnic. 


Some of the words of our Founding Fathers will illustrate American Judeo-Christian Values and our separation of church and state, but not the separation of God from state, and provide grounding for our understanding of social justice.

Thomas Jefferson wrote: 
"all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among them are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - that to secure these rights governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed ...."  
He also wrote: 
"God who gave us life gave us liberty.  Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God?"  He also wrote:  "Almighty God hath created the mind free.  ... All attempts to influence it by temporal punishments or burthens...are a departure from the plan of the Holy Author of our religion..." 
He also wrote: 
"I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man." 
Our Founding Fathers wrote the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: 
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." 
President George Washington said this when proclaiming our National Thanksgiving Holiday:
"It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God ...."
John Adams wrote this: 
"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion.  Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net.  Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people.  It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." 
Later, Abraham Lincoln wrote these words about the Bible: 
"In regard to this great book, I have but to say, it is the best gift God has given to men.  All the good Savior gave to the world was communicated through this book.  But for it we could not know right from wrong." 
He also spoke these words at the Gettysburg Address: 
"...that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain - that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom - and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." 

The following are the Judeo-Christian Values embraced by the American Republic and People.


I am indebted to Dennis Prager who has listed Judeo-Christian Values and elaborated on this subject long before I took it up; and those who know his work will recognize many of his thoughts.


1.  Our sense of right and wrong and our sense of wisdom come from the use of reason and common sense, but also, and importantly, from the Bible which, by faith was considered by our Founding Fathers to be God's inspired text; and not just from the mind or heart of man.  This faith lead to the mottos: "In God We Trust" and "One Nation under God."  Our Founding Fathers were believers in the God of the Bible, even if some were not orthodox Christians, and they put that faith into the Declaration of Independence, into our laws, into our national monuments, and into our culture.  Faith is a part of American Culture, something Atheists, Secularists, Humanists and those of other religions should acknowledge and accept as historically accurate truth.  To remove the results of Biblical Faith from America is to undo what the Founding Fathers have wrought.


2.  Truth is Sacred; there can be no liberty or justice, and little happiness without it.  Jesus connected truth and liberty when he said "the truth shall make you free."  In the Book of Exodus of the Hebrew Bible God describes Himself:  "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth..."   In Deuteronomy God is described this way:  "He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice."  Listen to King David in Psalm 25:  "Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me your paths.  Lead me in Your truth...";  and in Psalm 51:  "Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom." 


3.  Human life is the first gift of God, and it is of infinite value since man is made in the image of God.  Judeo-Christian Values have lead to a culture of life in America, not a culture of death.  Americans with Judeo-Christian Values will defend innocent God-given life.


4.  Our Liberty is a gift from God and stated so in the Declaration of Independence.  It is also stated in the New Testament Christian Bible:  "Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty."  Americans with Judeo-Christian Values will defend their God-given Liberty from tyranny and terror.


5.  Human creativity is also a gift from God and is not to be unjustly suppressed by totalitarian, tyrannical or excessively taxing government.  The work ethic is an important part of Judeo-Christian Values since honorable work is a reflection of God-given human creativity.  Human reason is also a part of God-given human creativity, and it has led to scientific knowledge and technological progress.  Reason and science are important aspects of Judeo-Christian Values.  Human creativity is central to the pursuit of happiness, but does not guarantee it; totalitarian systems such as Communism or Islamic Sharia Law guarantee utopian happiness, but don't deliver it.


6.  "Establish justice."  This is commanded repeatedly in the Hebrew Bible.  This is how it has been done in America:  Honor Life, Liberty and Creativity.  Liberty in practical terms means: Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion, no established or state-supported religion, right to bear arms and act in self-defense, uninterrupted elections and the division of powers into its three branches.  Where our culture is now headed in the wrong direction, in my opinion, is to provide special rights for certain groups of people.  Our Founding Fathers acknowledged these basic rights for all people, and our Civil War enforced it for the American slaves when they were denied their God-given Liberty.


7.  "Hate Evil".  This is commanded three times in the Hebrew Bible; this is from the book of Proverbs: "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil."  Hear the Prophet Isaiah: "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness...."  Americans with Judeo-Christian Values, as opposed to Europeans, still believe in the death penalty for pre-meditated murder, and America is still the nemesis of terrorists and tyrants - see the seal of the state of Virginia. 


8.  "Love your neighbor" - commanded in the Hebrew and Christian Bibles.  "Love your enemy" - commanded in the New Testament Christian Bible.  Generations of Americans, starting with our Founding Fathers, have had to square the values of "Hate Evil" with "Love your enemy."  This has been done by hating the evil within the enemies of God-given Life and Liberty, but not hating the evil-doer him/herself.


9.  In the Judeo-Christian Value System there is a natural and common-sense balance between compassion and courageous confrontation of evil.  This can be seen metaphorically as a natural balance between femininity and masculinity; both good and necessary.  The secular culture of Europe and of many in the United States today have unwisely suppressed the masculinity of Judeo-Christian American Culture, and this has put our society out of balance.


10. From Many, One:  e pluribus unum.  Ethnicity and race don't matter, but values do matter.  We Americans should consider ourselves blessed to live under God-given Liberty in the same melting pot; and we are privileged to pursue happiness through creative work and play, unencumbered by excessive government.  Those things that divide us, such as race or ethnicity, can be viewed metaphorically as our various styles; and are not very important.  Those things of lesser importance should melt into what is very important and which should unite us: our value of Life, Liberty and Creativity - those rights defined by the Declaration of Independence, and rightly identified as the gifts of God.


11. The natural resources of the Earth, including the animals, along with the rest of creation should be honored and well cared for, but also used and enjoyed; and never worshiped.

ABORTION: DEFENDING THE DEFENSELESS





Introduction

In 1973, the United States Supreme Court ruled that abortion is legal in every state. This ruling has now set the groundwork in motion for the genocide of helpless citizens. The innocent child sentence to death because the mother hated this child by abortion, just because she wanted to live an immoral life. This ruling takes America one step closer to the murder of the elderly and incapacitated.
The United States stepped into a new epoch of murder when New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo celebrated killing these children up to the moment of birth. If this persists, then the United States can never say one more word of the abortion problem in China.
Vermont lawmakers have the desire to follow in the footsteps of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo in their descent to the gates of hell. These Democrats are attempting to firm up the Roe v. Wade, the law of 1973, a ruling that resulted in 60 plus million murdered children to date. Reasonable people should stand and say no more murdering. This abortion law has killed more people than the lunatics shooting up schools, malls and theaters in America from 1973 until now, but people are closed mouth on this, why?
Now it will not be long before senior’s, and the disable citizens fall under this sentence of death. The murder of our seniors and disabled is coming just for convenience and making room for younger citizens who have little time to care for their parents or disabled family member.

The United States Court

In Exodus 20:13, it says,

13 You shall not murder (NASB).
The court is allowing this slaughter of the guiltless child to proceed without restraint. An innocent child is dying by the hand of those sworn to safeguard and protect them. The court and the mother of this child are both murderers.
Every individual involved in the murder of an innocent child will one day stand before God and must explain their action. What will they say, ‘the court said it was legal’? These comments will not endure as there is one rule of law, “You shall not murder.”

Medical Research

Even with the positive effect in the medical world by Embryonic Stem Cell Research, murder is still, the death of the child. This research will increase the abortion rate in America. Young women will allow themselves to become pregnant than abort their unwanted child. Research labs will pay big bucks, to continue in their abuse of an innocent child.

Abortion

Abortion is just a euphemism for legalized murder of the unborn child. Life once valued in America, now the innocent, unwanted child thrown away as garbage.
Amnesty groups become irrational in America when a convicted murderer faces execution. These same Amnesty groups are unemotional and silent with the extermination of the unborn child. Groups that advocate on behalf of the unwanted child, they become radicals and a hindrance to medical science. The cost is the child’s life the innocent party. If America continues to follow this path of arrogance, it will pay the price someday.
The real effect on either parent is of no interest to these healthcare professionals performing their slaughter; they call abortions. Their interest is money. These individuals have no guilt; to them, this is not a child but just tissue.

Wake Up America

Americans must wake up to this mass murder of thousands of innocent children happening every day. Americans complain of the forced abortions in China, yet, acts as if they are more sophisticated by allowing women to murder their child with the law backing this murder. These clinics are not informing the individual woman; there is a choice, is a form of forced abortion.

Human Rights

The United States has low marks on human rights with murder sanctioned as abortion.
Many Americans hate abortion with its denial of the fundamental rights granted under our laws.
Declaration of Independence

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

This denial of human rights by the child’s mother is terrifying.
The government and courts do not hear the outcry of people who hate abortion. They understand the abortion rights activists speak louder by saying that not having abortion rights is unconstitutional. Where in the Constitution is it written there is a right to abort an unwanted child? These wicked people think nothing of the Constitutional rights of the unborn person.
These murderers believe what is in the womb is not a person until birth. However, let a perpetrator murder a pregnant woman and her child dies, even though the woman scheduled an abortion for that day, the district attorney can and will charge the perpetrator with a double homicide. Upon conviction, the offender will end up on death row.
Even though the abortionist believes it is a blob until birth, but the court says no, sounds as if they support a double standard, does it not?

Abortion is Jihad Against a Child

Those that work in or for an abortion clinic or industries are murderers, this is no less a Jihad on the innocent. The Jihadist kill because someone does not believe as they do. The abortion worker is the same and having the crimson stain of the blood of the innocent on their hands.

Created by God

In Psalm 139:13-14, it says,

13 For thou formed my inward parts, thou knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise thee, for thou art fearful and wonderful. Wonderful are thy works! You know me right well (NASB).
Therefore, God created humanity in His image and likeness. Many distorted this picture by placing human life in the mother’s womb as just a blob.
In Genesis 1:26-28, it says,

26 Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle, and over the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the planet.
27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God, He created him; male and female He created them.
28 God blessed them; and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth (NASB).
God gave the man the power to take the life of another person if he or she kills another person with at least two witnesses proving there was a murder. Dispatching someone in any other way is murder (e.g., Abortion), except in war, but even at that point killing an unarmed person is a war crime of murder. God says the murderer will pay the price one day for their sin.
In Genesis 9:5-6, it says,

5 I will require your lifeblood; from every beast, I will expect it. And from every man, from every man’s brother, I will compel the life of man.
6 Whoever sheds man’s blood, by a man he will have his blood shed, for in the image of God He made the man (NASB).
The murdering abortionist may think there is no God, but the time is coming when abortionist must defend their actions, but it will fall. Abortion is murder and the work of their father, Satan.

Conclusion

In 1 John 3:8, it says,

8 The one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil (NASB).
Satan and his demons believe there is a God, and yet the man in his egotistic pride says there is no God. The United States is shouting the exact thing by the allowing of abortion.
There is but one true God. A child’s life is not meaningless for it has value and worth.
In James 2:19, it says,

19 You believe God is one. You do well; so, do the demons and shudder (NASB).
Embryonic Stem Cell Research has caused the slaughter of innocent children by the millions, and more will follow. When one stands before God, and He asks what did you do to stop this insanity of the murder of my children, what will you say?

The War on Christianity is Coming to You








Never before in American history have Christians experienced the war on Christianity, of being hated for following Jesus Christ as they are today.
Jesus warned his disciples and explained why there exists a hatred for Christianity.


“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates me hates my Father as well. If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’ – John 15:18-25
What Christians are experiencing in the world today is not so much a “war on Christianity” as it is rebellion against God, and thus a hatred toward anything that points to God or His Son Jesus… and by extension a hatred of Christ’s followers.
From the family house, to the church house, to the school house, to the court house, to the legislative house, to the Presidential house on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the Law of God is being ignored or arrogantly deemed irrelevant in today’s society.  As a result we are witnessing a savagery of such incredible proportion that it boggles the mind.  Kids are killing kids.  Parents are killing kids.  Kids are killing parents.  We are euthanizing the old and aborting the young.
In recent decades, we have seen worldwide an escalating of this hatred of Christianity in the form of militant radical Islam. While this Islamic jihad has been exploding for years throughout the Middle East and Europe, it burst on the scene in America on September 11, 2001.
Many Islamic-dominated nations have adopted a fanatical, militant doctrine of persecution against all “infidels.”

Close U.S. ally, Saudi Arabia has no religious freedom, all citizens must adhere to Sunni Islam. Others are imprisoned, tortured, detained, etc. for engaging in other religious activities. Apostasy is punishable by death. There are no public worship services for non-Muslims. Anyone who does mission work or converts Muslims faces expulsion, jail, or execution.
Since the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States where 15 of the 19 hijackers were citizens of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi government has failed to implement a number of promised reforms related to promoting freedom of thought, conscience, and religion or belief. The Saudi government persists in banning all forms of public religious expression other than that of the government’s own interpretation of one school of Sunni Islam; prohibits churches, synagogues, temples, and other non-Muslim places of worship; uses in its schools and posts online state textbooks that continue to espouse intolerance and incite violence; and periodically interferes with private religious practice.
The militant Islamic Government of Sudan severely restricts religious practice of all other types of religion and their restrictive Shari’ah law (Islamic law) attacks and threatens the Christian community. They are waging a self-described religious war against Christian, non-Muslim, and moderate Muslim persons by using torture, starvation, enslavement, and murder. They have violations of apostasy that could ultimately end up in the death penalty.
In Egypt (where the U.S. supported Arab Spring erupted that led to the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak), there continues to be serious problems of discrimination, intolerance, and other violations against religious minorities. Military and security forces are known to use excessive force and live ammunition targeting Coptic Christian demonstrators and places of worship resulting in dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries. The government also continues to prosecute, convict, and imprison Egyptian citizens charged with blasphemy.

Fleeing Egypt, 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians were kidnapped by a Libyan affiliate of the Islamic State of Iraq and marched to a beach, forced to kneel and then beheaded.
In U.S. occupied Afghanistan, the constitution and other laws and policies restrict religious freedom and, in practice the government generally enforced legal restrictions. Non-Muslim minority groups, particularly Christians, Hindus, and Sikhs, continue to be targets of persecution and discrimination. Shia and Sunni Islamic clergy, as well as many citizens, interpreted conversion from Islam as contravening the tenets of Islam. Conversion, considered an act of apostasy and a crime against Islam, could be punishable by death if the convert did not recant.
In Iraq, the government continues to tolerate systematic, ongoing, and egregious religious freedom violations. Religious sites and worshippers are targeted in violent attacks, often with impunity, and businesses viewed as “un – Islamic” are vandalized.
Iran has imprisoned Saeed Abedini, an Iranian-American pastor since 2012 allegedly for “threatening the national security of Iran.” At least 350 religious prisoners of conscience remain in Iranian prisons, including some 90 Christians.
In Pakistan, the government has declared those that who “insult” Mohammed will be put to death.
In Communist Laos more than 250 pastors and Christian workers have been arrested; more than 60 churches and Christian institutions have been shut down; and the government has forced many thousands of believers to sign documents to “renounce” their faith and belief in Christianity.
Hundreds of Christians, including women, children and the elderly, have been abducted in Syria by militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in northeastern Syria. Millions more Syrians have suffered the conflict in recent years. More than half of Syria’s pre-conflict population is now displaced or are regugees in neighboring countries. USCIRF Chair Katrina Lantos Swett said, “By the systematic targeting and massacre of primarily Sunni Muslims, the al-Assad regime created the environment in which ISIL could rise and spread, threatening the entire region and all religious communities that reject its violent religious ideology, with the smallest religious minority communities facing an existential threat.”
Other offenders of religious freedom according to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom also include Burma, China, Egypt, Eritrea, Iran, Nigeria, North Korea, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. The CPC watch list of countries considered borderline and many eventually end up with aggressive religious persecution include: Belarus, Cuba, India, Indonesia, Russia, Somalia, and Venezuela.
In more than 40 nations around the world, people are being persecuted simply because of their faith. Hundreds of men and women are in prison serving sentences that range from a few months to life. They are not criminals who have robbed or murdered other citizens but Christians who were put on trial for their faith in Christ and found guilty. Christians are beaten, tortured, imprisoned, and murdered by those who are hostile to their faith in Jesus Christ.

It wouold seem we are getting close to the day that here in American we will suffer extreme persecution.
Currently, there is still a Constitution in America that protects Christians and allows them to freely practice their faith. But, broiling beneath the surface, the same hatred of God that exists in other parts of the world is festering in all our institutions. Slowly, methodically, and incrementally the anti-God forces are working to remove that Constitutional barrier and replace it with the 10 Planks of Communism.
Forces within our government even use the so-called “war on terror” as a mechanism to actually support the enemies of our freedom. Following the 9/11 attacks, the U.S. Government has instituted numerous laws and regulations that strip Americans of the Constitutional rights and in some cases even paint Bible believing Christians as terrorists.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God…. And from such people turn away!

…all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned …” 2 Timothy 3:1-5, 12-14
It is important to recognize that those engaged in the war on Christianity, working for the dissolution of our society and breakdown of the family have a spiritual agenda. They are not merely attempting to dismantle the historic cultural values of this nation and move us toward a new world order. They also want to destroy Christianity and Bible-based religion. It is a clear part of their agenda, and they have already moved a long way in that direction.
“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.” – Matt. 24:9
It was prophesied 2,000 years ago that Christians will be hated and ultimately handed over to be persecuted and put to death. The fulfillment of this prophecy began soon after Christ said it. Stephen was stoned (Acts 7:59); James was killed by Herod (Acts 12:2); and, the persecution under Nero took place before the destruction of Jerusalem, in which were put to death, with many others, Peter and Paul. Most of the apostles, it is believed, died by persecution. This prophecy was fulfilled then, and has been in all ages since.
Modernday Christians continue to witness the fulfillment of this prophecy even today. God hating zealots include people like Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinsky, George Soros, and the other politicos, European Royalty, world bankers and CEO’s of multinational corporations who are members of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bilderberg group and the Trilateral Commission. Their stated plan is to have a one world government which is opposed to God and Christ.

The Wrath of God Is Revealed From Heaven (1)

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness (Rom. 1:18).

We frequently hear sermons that emphasize the love and mercy of God, but today rarely do we hear anything about God's wrath. Modem denominationalism has either totally eliminated the doctrine of hell from its theology or hidden it in some remote corner. Several books, including one by Edward Fudge (The Fire That Consumes), have been published in recent years that take the position that the punishment of hell is annihilation, not endless torment. In a recent ad in the church news section of our local paper, a denomination advertised that it did not preach sermons on hell fire and brimstone. These things point us to the sad truth that some men want to hear nothing about the wrath of God. Nevertheless, Paul spoke about the wrath of God being revealed from heaven and we need to study what he says about it.

The Wrath of God

The Scriptures repeatedly speak about the wrath of God in such passages as the following:

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him (John 3:36).

For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience (Col. 3:6).

The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb (Rev. 14:10).

And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God (Rev. 14:19).

See also Revelation 15:1,7;16:1 or consult any concordance and look under entries about the wrath of God. We cannot faithfully proclaim the totality of God's revelation without speaking about his wrath.

God's Wrath Is Revealed

Not only does the Bible teach that wrath is a part of God's nature, it also tells us that God's wrath has been revealed from heaven against ungodliness and unrighteousness in men. Here are a number of ways that it has been revealed:

1. In the doctrine of Hell. The Lord Jesus spoke more about hell than any other person in the New Testament. He told us about a place of eternal torment (see Luke 16:19-31; Mark 9:43-48). Hell is a place of the righteous retribution of divine justice against wickedness (Rom. 2:8-9; 2 Thess. 1:7-9). It is a place of everlasting separation from the presence of God (see Luke 16:19-31). Surely, we can see the wrath of God revealed from heaven in the Bible doctrine of Hell.

2. In God's moral government of the world. The Bible records the Lord's dealing with men through the centuries. The basis of his moral government of the world is concisely stated in Proverbs 14:34 "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people" (Prov. 14:34). The prophet Jeremiah expressed it more completely in the following passage:

At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; if that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; if it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them (Jer. 18:7-10).

The execution of God's moral government of the world is witnessed in the flood (Gen. 6-8), the destruction of the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 18-19), the sending of Israel into Assyrian captivity (2 Kings 17:13-18) and Judah into Babylonian captivity, and the destruction of Jerusalem at the hand of the Romans in A.D. 70 (Matt. 21:33-43). All of these examples of God's destruction of cities and nations display God's wrath against the ungodliness and unrighteousness of men.

3. In the consequences and temporal results of sin. God's wrath against the ungodliness and unrighteousness of men is also seen in sin's consequences. In the context of Romans 1, God's wrath is specifically shown in his "giving them up" (Rom. 1:24,28). In these verses, the Lord's "giving them up" was an abandonment of man to follow his sin to its ultimate conclusion to receive the pain and suffering that sin produces. This age old principle is witnessed in the Proverbs "the way of transgressors is hard" (13:15). God manifested his wrath toward ungodliness and unrighteousness by hedging in the way of sin with thorns and thistles.

Conclusion

We do men a grave injustice when we so emphasize the love and mercy of God that we neglect to preach about the wrath of God. Just as certainly as the Bible reveals the gospel of Jesus Christ, it also reveals the wrath of God.

DO NOT SEEK A POLITICAL SAVIOR BY PUTTING YOUR POLITICS BEFORE YOUR FAITH

If Obama was Not the Political Savior, Neither is Trump By Dr. Michael L. Brown

 Eight years ago, massive crowds gathered to hear Barack Obama’s stirring message of hope and change. This young senator was not just a rising star, he was a superstar, and even overseas, crowds thronged to hear him.
Eight years later, rather than hope and change there is widespread pessimism and disgust, and the dramatic changes that have occurred under the Obama administration are, for the most part, negative and even destructive.
Now, a new star has risen, a quite unlikely one at that. The crowds are also thronging to hear him, and his followers are convinced that this man, their man, Donald Trump, will single-handedly make America great again. The political system is corrupt, say his loyal supporters, and America has become a shell of what she used to be, both nationally and internationally.
Donald Trump will save the day. Donald Trump knows how to get it done. Donald Trump will not back down. Donald Trump is the alpha male we need. Some even claim that God Himself has raised up Donald Trump for such a time as this.
Others firmly believe that Bernie Sanders is the man. We need nothing less than a revolution, they say, and he is the man to lead it! Bernie Sanders is also drawing crowds, and his supporters are equally passionate and devoted.
From a personal perspective, whoever our next president is, I will pray that he (or she) will be the greatest president we have ever had, just as I have prayed for Barack Obama (with evident disappointment).
And although I could not vote for Bernie or Hillary because of their militantly pro-abortion and pro-LGBT activist views, and although I have grave concerns about a Trump presidency, assuming that one of them will be our next president, that person will be my president. I will honor their authority, do my best to be of help in realizing our national goals, and speak out when I feel they are seriously wrong.
All that being said, my great concern is that we make the mistake of putting our trust in a political leader.
As one who endorsed Sen. Cruz and felt that he could have helped lead America in a righteous revolution, I constantly reminded myself, “Ted Cruz is not the answer. Only Jesus is the answer.” All the more do I say that when it comes to Trump or Bernie or Hillary.
Five years ago, in 2011, I wrote an article entitled “Don’t Put Your Trust in a Political Savior,” warning Americans of the danger of looking to a political leader to save the day.
One year later, as we approached the 2012 elections, I wrote these words: “If the elections were held today, I would vote for Mitt Romney rather than sit out the elections or cast a protest vote for a third party candidate. But I would do so with extremely limited hopes, and my very act of voting in November would be a reminder to me that I cannot expect the radical changes America needs to come from the White House.”
Today, when the crises surrounding us seem all the more intensified and when the world around us seems all the more unstable, it is all the more imperative that we do not put our trust in a man (or woman), exalting that person into quasi-divine status, looking to him or her as some kind of heroic deliverer.
Without a doubt, a good president can do much good and a bad president can do much damage, but there is only so much one individual can do — even the president of the United States — and we set ourselves up for failure and disappointment when we look to a human being as if that human being were some kind of super-being.
But that is what some people are doing.
In his victory speech in Bismarck, North Dakota, Trump said to his jubilant supporters, “Politicians have used you and stolen your votes. They have given you nothing. I will give you everything. I will give you what you’ve been looking for for 50 years. I’m the only one.”
Unfortunately, many of his supporters believe this, leading Brandon Morse to say on Redstate.com, “This Feels Less Like An Election and More Like the Establishment Of Religion.”
Let the voter beware.
Writing for The Federalist on May 28th, M. G. Oprea penned an insightful article entitled, “What The Arab Spring Can Teach Us About America’s Populist Revolution.” The subtitle read, “‘A Rage For Order’ chronicles the dangers of political strongmen and popular revolts. Should Americans nervously eyeing Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders be asking if it can happen here?”
After summarizing what happened in the Arab world, where, in several countries, the Arab Spring became the Sharia Fall, she gave this word of warning: “It’s easy to look down on the people in these countries for their naïveté in believing that a single man could provide all the answers and being so easily carried from one extreme to the other. But, it would be unwise to throw the first stone at a time when this is truer in America than many of us are comfortable admitting.”
And, she added, “whenever a party, or a people, put their hopes in one man, the promises of democracy begin to fade into the background.”
We have lived through 8 years of political demagoguery and executive orders, and we surely do not need four (or, worse still, 8) more years of the same. And while we do our best to advocate for the candidate whom we feel is best suited to lead our nation, and while we may have very strong feelings about who that candidate is, the warning remains the same: By all means, work for and with the best candidate, but do not put your trust in a political savior.
Only Jesus is the Savior. Everyone else serves, for better or for worse.  Last but not least, do not put your absolute trust in any man or woman especially politicians.  Our absolute trust should be in GOD ALONE!
