11 Ways to be a Prayer Warrior

So many bad circumstances take place in this fallen world – such as illness, crime, accidents, and conflicts – that it’s easy to get so discouraged that you simply let it all happen without fighting it. But you actually have more control over bad situations than you may realize. Evil is behind much of the bad that happens in the world, and God has given you the ability to fight evil and overcome it with good through the most powerful weapon possible: prayer.

God calls all believers to fight in the spiritual  and social  battles of life that are constantly taking place, where evil causes suffering but God works to redeem it for good purposes. Those who say “yes” to God’s call – prayer warriors – participate in the world’s most important work. Here’s how you can be a prayer warrior:

Understand that there is a war and you are in it. Like it or not, all of us are caught up in the spiritual war that’s taking place between good and evil. If you don’t engage in the war, you’ll still be affected by it – and you’ll be much more vulnerable to evil than you would if you decided to fight as God calls you to do. So be active; not passive. Engage in spiritual warfare with the confidence that God’s power working through you is greater than any evil working against you. Your prayers can help prevent bad things from happening to people and usher good things into people’s lives. Listen to the Holy Spirit’s promptings for guidance about how best to pray for what’s most needed – and then pray to advance God’s kingdom on Earth and stop the spread of evil.

Know your commander and stand on His side. Your commander in spiritual warfare is Jesus Christ, who leads two armies: the army of holy angels in heaven and the army of prayer warriors on Earth. Jesus chose you, saves you, gives you an eternal inheritance of blessings, and lives in your soul as the Holy Spirit. Jesus wants you to choose His side in the spiritual war, and to remember that the power He gives you is more powerful than evil. Your commander Jesus is the greatest example of a prayer warrior; by studying his life on Earth you can learn how to serve God without fear.

Recognize who your true enemy is. Your enemy is Satan, the highest ranked of the fallen angels who rebelled against God. Satan is your adversary, accuser, tempter, and deceiver. He works by trying to convince you to doubt God’s truth and believe his lies instead. You open doors for your enemy to attack you whenever you deliberately disobey God and choose to sin. It’s vital to run away from temptations to sin and pray against Satan’s plans to hurt you and other people.

Be certain of your authority in prayer. Jesus has given you authority to pray in His name and to know that He will answer your prayers according to God’s will and at the right time. Be confident that you can pray to usher God’s power into any situation.

Condition yourself to be all you can be. Do the best you can to stay in good condition spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Prayer warriors, like soldiers should in order to be optimally effective when fighting.

Put on your protective armor each morning. Put on the spiritual armor that the Bible mentions can help you engage in spiritual warfare: Gird your waist with the truth by reading your Bible often so that its truths sink deeply into your soul, and keeping those truths in mind whenever you make decisions to help guard yourself from deception. Put on the breastplate of righteousness by relying on the Holy Spirit’s guidance to choose what’s right; your right attitudes and actions will act like a bulletproof vest protecting you against Satan’s attacks. Shoe your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace by accepting the peace that only Jesus can give you and using that peace as an unshakeable foundation of confidence to defend yourself against evil. Take the shield of faith by placing your faith in God and His Word, the Bible, to deliver you from evil and trusting that anything is indeed possible with God. Put on the helmet of salvation by reminding yourself of what Jesus did on the Cross to save you from sin’s deception and destruction, and choosing to believe what Jesus says about you rather than lies the enemy wants you to believe. Take the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God by combatting lies with biblical truth, both defensively and offensively. Keep praying and relying on the Holy Spirit working through you until you see breakthroughs happen and God’s will is accomplished in the situations about which the Spirit led you to pray.

Become skilled with your spiritual weapons. Read the Bible and incorporate its truth into your life. Invite God’s presence into your life in greater power through praise and worship. Believe that anything is possible with God. Fast when you pray about especially challenging situations. Commit everything you pray about fully to God.

Engage in the war knowing time in short. Keep in mind that the time until Jesus returns at the end of the world is limited, and so is that time you have to live and serve on Earth. So make the most of the time you have to fight evil.

Identify the immediate battlefield. When you’re attacked by evil, be as specific as possible in your prayers about where the enemy has taken the battle.

Follow his orders to resist the enemy. Resist Satan and the evil spirits who work with him by submitting your life completely to God, rejecting pride, refusing fear, praying for miracles, being content, remembering what’s true and what’s not, and never giving up when you’re praying.

See what’s happening from God’s perspective. Ask God to show you the full truth about what’s going on in the situations about which you’re praying, as well as how you can pray about each of those situations to be most effective against evil.

AFFIRMATIONS IN THE FORM OF A PRAYER

My heavenly Father hears my voice during my prayers.  He preserves my life from fear of the enemy. With God on my side, no foe can make me  afraid or cause me to  tremble or panic.  The Lord hides me from the secret plots of the wicked. Those who speak evil things against me shall be brought to nothing. Those who scheme together against me and talk of laying secret snares to trap me, shall face the Lord.

When the enemy rises against me with curses of destruction, God arouses  Himself on my behalf. He turns their own tongues against them and brings them to ruin. The very curses that they send to me  are turned back on their own heads, and all who see them will shake their heads in wonder of what possessed them to be so foolish. All who see what my Father does on my behalf will tremble with awe as they ponder over what has been done. They will openly proclaim that my God is the greatest and his deeds have no equal.  As for me I will continuously praise the Lord . My refuge is in him and my joy will never end. In Jesus Mighty name Amen!

   A PERSONAL PROPHETIC WORD FROM THE HEART OF GOD THE FATHER

Beloved, all the power of the enemy has been disabled by Jesus. You serve a powerful King who loves to fight. The battle is always mine because I relish the conflict. You are in the joyful business of working from a place of victory, never towards it. Your role is to partake in my overcoming. Therefore you always know the outcome before the battle. Abide in me, beloved child, and you will stand in my presence and occupy your standing in power and victory. I desire that you live a life that partners with victory in a way that guarantees the outcome of every conflict. 

Child, you can only lose this fight , if you lack focus. My people do not require rescuing. They have a mindset in Christ that is aligned with majesty. They see everything as an opportunity to believe me for something powerful to happen. They are privileged  to trust me. I am excited to teach you how to move in faith. I want you to explore my heart for you in this combat. My favor is ever present, allow this oppositional situation to reveal it to you. Ask me for this revelation so that you may encounter me! I want you to delight in me when your life is contested. I have made arrangements for you to advance and increase in the Spirit.
 
When opposition is fierce and protracted, it is only because there are lots of blessings, increases and advances that you must receive over that period of time. They all begin in an upgrade in your relationship and fellowship with me. I want you to become so fascinated by my love for you that you are never intimidated by the evil one. You have my blessing and permission to make the enemy confused. I anoint you to weary him by your rest. I appoint you to discourage him by your faith. I empower you to demoralize him with your joy. I refresh you so that he is depressed by your endurance. I commit all that I am to you, so that the enemy becomes dispirited by your favor. I embrace you in all that you are not, and all that you may become, so that the enemy is defeated by your grace. Be refreshed. Receive my mindset in these matters and be renewed in the spirit of your mind! 

I want you to be confident in Me, unashamed and uncondemned.  Pray with joy, rejoice in my nature.  Make choices that are in line with my Sovereignty. Never allow the enemy to obstruct you or invalidate your anointing. There is no frustration in Heaven, therefore, it cannot be allowed to exist in your circumstances. In Christ Jesus there is always another possibility. A renewed mind empowers you to think outside the box of your own reasoning. 

A renewed mind is always celebrating something. Renewed thinking always contains the vision that I have in regard for your life and circumstances. Come with Me and I will teach you about the power of the one with THE ONE! It is time to upgrade your stature in Christ to the next level. 

PERSONAL AFFIRMATIONS IN THE FORM OF A PRAYER

The Lord is my light and my salvation-I shall fear no one. The very creator of the universe is the impenetrable fortress of safety in my life. For me to fear any enemy would be ludicrous. 

When my foes advance against me to devour my flesh, they will trip over their own devices and fall with a great destruction. Though a vast, innumerable  army surrounds me, demanding my surrender, my heart will be still and I will not give in to terror. Even if they all attack at once and the odds appear overwhelming, I will still remain confident and full of courage for I know that my heavenly Father has taken his stand by my side. No matter what the odds may be, my victory is made certain and I will never give in to fear. I will never give in or give up in Jesus name Amen!

THE SPIRITUAL WARRIOR'S CODE OF CONDUCT:

• At all times, and in all places, be the champion of right and good against evil and injustice.
• Always maintain one’s principles.
• Love God with all our heart and all your powers.
• Cultivate love, faith and hope in your life.
• Love your neighbor as yourself.
• Do not boast of your own accomplishments, but tell the deeds of others before your own.
• Live one’s life so that is is worthy of respect and honor.
• Remain faithful to your pledged word.
• Exhibit self-control and self-discipline.
• Cultivate understanding and wisdom.
• Be prepared to make personal sacrifices in the service of the principles you serve.
• Cultivate nobility.
• Realize that ideals cannot be reached, but striving for them ennobles the spirit.
• Do not let anger control your actions.
• Do not let the lack of chivalry in others cause you to be unchivalrous.
• Exhibit manners.
• Be generous to everyone.
• Defend the weak and innocent.
• Never abandon a friend, ally, or noble cause.
• Be known for unwavering commitment to the people and ideals you choose to live by.
• Preserve, to the end, any enterprise once begun.

What is a workplace bully?

On its surface, bullying is a simple concept. A strong person acts harshly towards someone weaker, and the bullying is blatant and habitual. It includes browbeating and threatening, verbal abuse and yelling. everyone recognizes that person as a bully.

Obvious bullies ultimately fail

An obvious bully is noisy, overly aggressive and blatent in his attempts to force others to comply with his will. Resist him and he attacks like an ill-bred pitbull. In some toxic workplaces, he may survive for years, or even become a high-level executive.

But usually he will get himself fired. His nasty over-the-top bullying is just too obvious. This simple, stupid version of bullying is rarely a path to sustained success in the American workplace.

Beware the clever bully

Because of this, a successful workplace bully is usually much cleverer in his tactics. He rarely resembles the stereotype. His methods are very subtle, disguised with all the right behaviors.

In that lies his treachery. People respect and trust him, and he quietly betrays their trust whenever necessary to fulfill his ambitions. For him, the ends always justifies the means.
And if the bully is particularly good at this, no one except his victims sees the betrayals. In some cases, not even the victims realize what has happened.

It gets worse and worse...

To make matters worse, a highly skilled bully usually has the dedication, focus and business acumen to create success, or at least the appearance of success. Then he is honored and promoted, held up as an example of a company-centric leader. He is rewarded while the frustration builds among the targets of his bullying and intimidating, backstabbing and manipulating. For them, life has become an upside-down hell..

Beyond the traditional definition of "bully"

A skilled, clever bully displays an elaborate, complex set of behaviors to exploit people around him. Those who only consider bullying to be blatantly aggressive behavior are missing the point. Any habitual pattern of intentional, socially cruel behavior is bullying, including the subtle tactics of deceit, distortion, misreprentation and misdirection. When the penalty for resisting someone is destruction of your position and reputation, it’s fair to describe that person as a bully.

Using this broad definition, bullying has reached epidemic proportions in the American workplace.

Accidental vs. intentional bullying

Not everyone who displays bullying behaviors can truly be described as a workplace bully. If someone has genuine concern for your well-being, he may be attempting to influence your behavior for your own good. Just because you don’t like his approach doesn’t make him a bully.

 

Or someone may yell at you in frustration. But perhaps he lacks emotional maturity and is overreacting to a stressful situation. An isolated incident doesn’t prove bullying. Good-hearted people often make mistakes.

In contrast, a workplace bully has self-serving goals with a complete lack of respect or caring for others, who he never considers as equals. And among these moral and intellectual inferiors, he feels free to use any means necessary to gain compliance. It is his perpetual intention to dominate those he considers to be weak, naive, unaware or otherwise susceptible to his guile.

Did J. Edgar Hoover Really Wear Dresses?

Mr. Kessler is the author of a new book on the FBI, The Bureau: The Secret History of the FBI, available from Amazon.com.

In 1993, Anthony Summers, in his book Official and Confidential: The Secret Life of J. Edgar Hoover, claimed that Hoover did not pursue organized crime because the Mafia had blackmail material on him. In support of that, Summers quoted Susan L. Rosenstiel, a former wife of Lewis S. Rosenstiel, chairman of Schenley Industries Inc., as saying that in 1958, she was at a party at the Plaza Hotel where Hoover engaged in cross-dressing in front of her then-husband and Roy Cohn, former counsel to Senator Joe McCarthy.
"He [Hoover] was wearing a fluffy black dress, very fluffy, with flounces and lace stockings and high heels, and a black curly wig," Summers quoted Susan as saying."He had makeup on and false eyelashes."[1]
Susan claimed Cohn introduced Hoover to her as"Mary." Hoover allegedly responded,"Good evening." She said she saw Hoover go into a bedroom and take off his skirt. There,"young blond boys" worked on him in bed. Later, as Hoover and Cohn watched, Lewis Rosenstiel had sex with the young boys.
A year later, Susan claimed, she again saw Hoover at the Plaza. This time, the director was wearing a red dress. Around his neck was a black feather boa. He was holding a Bible, and he asked one of the blond boys to read a passage as another boy played with him.
It was episodes such as these, Summers declared, that the Mafia held over Hoover's head."Mafia bosses obtained information about Hoover's sex life and used it for decades to keep the FBI at bay," the jacket of the book says."Without this, the Mafia as we know it might never have gained its hold on America."
