We answer to many types of authority—the government, bosses, parents, teachers, and more—but all of these “earthly” realms of authority rest beneath the ultimate sovereignty of God. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses our need to know the Lord, revere Him, and live our lives in such a way that we honor Him and His Word. Many people do not live this way, dismissing God and ridiculing those with a biblical worldview. Jesus warned us of this. As His followers, we need to focus on pleasing God instead of bending our beliefs to fit popular opinion. Pastor Allen offers passages from Scripture where various Bible heroes spoke into the events of their day, bringing biblical truth into the public square. We’re called to bravely do the same today.
